The days and weeks are flying and while many are bored with being homebound there is one sure fix: food and drinks. Traveling with your appetite is a creative way to explore when your house is still the safest place. These days the variety of food and drink delivery options has never been more vast. Chop and prep with a celebrity chef or experiment with new ways to shake up mock-tails and cocktails or even blend your own wine! While some services, like Blue Apron and Goldbelly, are tried and true others, like The Blending Lab and Pink House Alchemy, are brand new to the scene and ready to spark creativity this weekend.
BLUE APRON
Who wouldn’t want to cook with James Beard Award winning Chef Roy Yamaguchi? While a private cooking lesson may be a splurge, Blue Apron has partnered with the chef to offer exclusive menu options for delivery the week of May 3rd.
Chef Roy’s Hawaii-inspired recipes “represent his blend of French and Japanese cooking traditions using fresh ingredients typically found in Hawaiian cuisine.”
Dishes featuring togarashi scallops with beurre blanc or charred gochujang pork with sour cherry soy sauce are only the tip of the culinary ice berg.
“I am thrilled to partner with Blue Apron to shine a spotlight on Hawaii-inspired cuisine and its roots. In collaboration with their culinary team, we created recipes that highlight elements of what makes this cuisine so unique, including using juiced, dried, and preserved fruits in different formats to help perfect the blend of sweet and savory flavors.” Says Chef Roy Yamaguchi.
